Main Contractor: BGEN
End User: C3 Biotech
Working with principal contractor, BGEN, Norwood supported the architectural fit out of an existing industrial unit to create a new state-of-the-art facility for a pioneering technology company, C3 Biotech.
Emerged out of the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology in 2015, C3 is working to provide hydrocarbon fuels which are sustainable, renewable, and cost-effective. Their pioneering solutions play a crucial role in tackling the waste and emissions we produce every day.
Our scope of work encompassed design, manufacture and installation of 611sqm of 60min fire rated partitions, vision panels, walk on ceilings and doors to create a new 133sqm laboratory area. Above the lab we provided structural PFCs to support the sub grid for M&E services. Our solution incorporated the IsoClad walk on ceiling and the Armstrong ceiling just below, both installed by our team.
Utilising Norwood MED200 system, we also designed and installed a modular pod with an integrated goal post. With the dimensions comprising 10m by 15 m and a height of 5 m, the new free standing structure houses a new plantroom.
As part of the project, we also fitted undertook the certified fire stopping across the project which is a new service that we offer and registered to complete. The installation was carried out by the team of six over 5 months.
