Norwood worked alongside architect Capita and main contractor Willmott Dixon, utilising the strength of its experience and reputation in delivering bespoke cleanroom installations. Norwood’s mediline system was tailored to suit the individual requirements of the end user and incorporated modular size panels, glazed panels and door units.
The flexibility of the construction allows each system to be pre-engineered and custom built to exact project specifications and can provide varying levels of acoustic performance. All the products are manufactured off site under quality assured conditions, thus minimising downtime and disruption during installation. The cleanroom project at Leicester University encompassed all of the walls, wall linings, doors, glazing, returns to the external windows and walk-on ceilings (part of which is removable), as well as the services integration. The Project also involved specialist design for the structure of the central corridor linking the various rooms.
