Main Contractor: CMB Engineering
End User: Paragraf, Cambridge
Working closely with our trusted partner and main contractor, we completed the first phase of the Paragraf manufacturing and R&D cleanroom facility in Cambridge.
Paragraf is the first company in the world to mass produce graphene-based electronic devices using standard semiconductor processes. The cleanroom facility will be used for the production of 150mm wafers, utilising Paragraf’s unique graphene on wafer processes. Graphene (a single layer of carbon atoms over 150,000 times thinner than human hair) is now able to be used to revolutionise the performance of next generation electronic devices. Paragraf utilise this modern technology to provide unique solutions in a range of applications, including automotive, industrial automation, consumer, diagnostics and agritech.
As part of our scope, we designed, manufactured, and installed Mediline partitions, along with walk-on and suspended ceilings and doors, creating fully compliant ISO 5, 6 & 8 cleanrooms.
The project aimed to transform a recently constructed distribution warehouse into a state-of-the-art cleanroom facility for the production of 150mm wafers capable of holding 12,000 devices per wafer.
Delivered on a fast-track basis, our pre-manufactured and demountable system facilitated rapid installation, meeting challenging timelines while ensuring every area was completed to the highest standards.
We are proud to continue our longstanding relationship with CMB, having supported numerous projects within the semiconductor market, including IQE, CSA Catapult, and most recently, KLA UK in Newport.
